Daft Daddy is awful at golf. I’m so bad I once lost a golf ball in the ball washer. But Phil Mickelson may be my new dad hero. I know he is to his daughter Amanda. Phil Mickelson flew home to San Diego to watch his daughter’s eighth-grade graduation which was on Wednesday evening. That wouldn’t be such a big deal – if he didn’t have a tee time the next morning at 7:11am at the US Open in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. Mickelson said, “”My daughter Amanda is speaking at her 8th grade graduation ceremony and I always planned on being here for that.” He landed in Philadelphia a little after 4 a.m. ET on Thursday morning, and was at the golf course just after 5:30 a.m. As of press time he shot a 3 under and is leading the tournament. Chubbs Peterson must be looking down on him from heaven.
